God Never Asked You to Perform for Him

There’s a quiet pressure many of us carry, even in our faith.
The pressure to perform.
To get it right. To be consistent. To prove that we belong to God by how well we behave.
And while discipline matters, and obedience matters…performance was never the requirement for relationship.
God never asked you to perform for Him.
Scripture reminds us in 1 Samuel that man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart. And if we’re honest, most of us have spent more time managing appearances than tending to our hearts.
We’ve learned how to look right.
Say the right things.Show up the right way.Carry the image of someone who has it all together.
All while internally wrestling.
But God has never been intimidated by your wrestle.
He sees it. He knows it. And He made provision for it.
That’s why Jesus was sent.
Not because we had the ability to get it all right; but because God already knew we wouldn’t.
No amount of good works could close the gap. No level of consistency could make us perfect. So instead of demanding perfection, God offered covering.
Grace.
And grace doesn’t mean we live recklessly. It doesn’t mean we ignore conviction or dismiss growth.
It means we stop pretending.
It means we stop performing for a God who already sees everything.
And instead, we come honestly.
Because what God responds to isn’t perfection;it’s posture.
A heart that believes.A heart that turns.A heart that acknowledges, “I need You.”
That’s always been enough for Him to move.

Awesome!
