Born to Navy veterans Ray and Twanda Arrington, Monica "Mo" Arrington is a woman of resilience, faith, and purpose. A proud Bethune-Cookman University alumna, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Educational Studies with a Minor in Biology and a Master of Science in Transformative Leadership. Her life’s work is deeply rooted in education, leadership, and empowerment, serving as a Dean of Student Services and actively contributing to the Volusia County Human & Civil Rights Committee. But Mo’s impact extends far beyond the classroom. She is a retired NFL cheerleader for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a host on Praise Time TV, and a recording artist who has traveled the world, lending her voice to gospel greats. She is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, walking in the legacy of sisterhood, service, and excellence. Yet, like many, she has walked through seasons of loss and uncertainty. Losing her father in 2019 shook her foundation, and for a time, she questioned her place, her voice, and her calling. But in the silence of her struggle, God spoke. She asked, “Lord, how can I be trusted?” And He answered, “Be a woman of your word.” That revelation ignited something powerful within her. Inspired by Proverbs 18:21—"The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit"—Mo founded Mean Girls 18:21 (MG18:21), a movement that challenges women to speak life, walk boldly, and create the change they wish to see.
The Evolution of a Movement: MG18:21 to Last Thing
Over time, Mean Girls 18:21 evolved into something even greater—The Last Thing. What began as a mission to empower women through words has expanded into a larger platform for authentic conversation, faith-based insight, and cultural reflection. At the heart of this evolution is Mo’s newest venture, "Last Thing, I Think"—a fun, reflective, and unapologetically authentic podcast that is "Where Faith Meets Reality." This podcast blends personal reflections, faith-driven wisdom, and cultural commentary, offering listeners a mix of humor, depth, and real talk. Each episode captures the last thought on Mo’s mind—whether funny, profound, or faith-filled—and explores it through personal experience, wisdom, or a cultural lens. Through raw honesty and real-life application, "Last Thing, I Think" creates a space where listeners can laugh, reflect, and grow—bridging the gap between spiritual truths and everyday life. Because at the end of the day, faith isn’t just something we talk about—it’s something we live.
Mo’s journey is a testament to the power of faith, perseverance, and purpose. She is more than an educator, a speaker, or a creative—she is a bridge between potential and purpose, a voice for the voiceless, and a living reminder that what we speak, believe, and become can change everything.
She doesn’t just share wisdom—she lives it.
